We begin the weekend with a tour of LaManna at Essendon. LaManna is Australia’s largest 100% Australian grown fruit & vegetable market - 10,000sqm precinct incorporating meat, deli, seafood, bakery, patisserie and groceries.
Following the tour we board our Sharp Airlines flight at Essendon Fields Airport. The trip from Essendon to Flinders Island is about an hour’s duration ( on a Metroliner which is a twin engine, two pilot, 19 passenger seats plane - so it is not a tiny plane!)
Once on Flinders Island, we invite you to meet the producer, the butcher, the grocer - learn more about the produce and products of Flinders Island - fresh, local and sustainable.

Over the weekend there will be plenty of time for you to explore the grounds of Flinders Island Gourmet Retreat, walk to the beach or sit beside the fire, read or watch the weather go by and of course, cook!
Megan Knapp currently runs The Kitchen Door in Victoria. She is a fully qualified chef with over 30 years of experience, from Melbourne, to North East Victoria, the High Country and abroad. Megan will bring her well travelled culinary knowledge to Flinders Island Gourmet Retreat to share with you.
